Roberta
Roberta has a musical background grounded in classical training with The Royal Academy of Music. Roberta first appeared on our screens in 2004, when she reached the live finals of the X-Factor. With the X-Factor complete, Roberta moved to London permanently to gain further experience and develop her own composing skills.
Roberta is a featured artist with Momo, www.tonicastells.com, with whom she has toured throughout Europe. She also features on Bressie’s debut solo album Colourblind Stereo, which was released in 2011 and went to number 1 in Ireland. As a session vocalist, Roberta has sung vocals in studio and live for Sharon Corr and Ronan Keating, including performances at Oxegen Festival, Glastonbury Festival and BBC’s Children in Need, and more recently on Nathan Carter’s Number 1 album ‘Beautiful Life’. You may also have seen her perform on RTE’s hit Saturday night talk show ‘Tonight with Craig Doyle‘ as the lead vocalist in the house band.
Having spent her last five years in London, she was one of four girls who made up the singing group FanFair. The group first began performing at major Rugby Union games, including a performance to a sold out Twickenham stadium, and went on to tour with The Wanted on their sell out arena tour ‘The Code’ throughout the UK and Ireland. Fanfair became brand ambassadors for Collection make up, and their single ‘Mission’ was featured on Collection make up ‘s TV advert, in which the girls starred.
Roberta cites Minni Ripperton & Kate Bush as influences on her singing career to date, focusing clearly on the emotion of a song. She continues to write for other artists, and as a soloist, having recently released her singles ‘Water to Fire’ and ‘Broken Wings’.
